American Public Television Shows Earn Four Daytime Emmy® Nominations

JOSEPH ROSENDO'S TRAVELSCOPE and MOVEABLE FEAST WITH FINE COOKING nominated for television industry's top honors

BOSTON (MAY 1, 2014) – American Public Television (APT), a leading national distributor of programs to the public broadcasting system, today congratulated producers from two of its most popular programs for their four Daytime Emmy® nominations from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).

APT programs accounted for four of the 44 public television programs receiving Daytime Emmy nominations. Public television ranked third overall in total program nominations, coming in just behind CBS and syndicated programming.

The acclaimed Emmy®-winning travel show JOSEPH ROSENDO'S TRAVELSCOPE — hosted by veteran travel, food and wine journalist and travel broadcaster Joseph Rosendo — earned three nominations. Rosendo was nominated as “Outstanding Host in a Lifestyle/Travel Program.” The series received nominations for "Outstanding Directing in a Lifestyle/Culinary/Travel Program,” and “Outstanding Special Class Writing.”

MOVEABLE FEAST WITH FINE COOKING, a series hosted by Australia’s top celebrity chef Pete Evans, earned a nomination for "Outstanding Culinary Program." The series takes viewers on a culinary journey across the U. S., preparing culinary meals with innovative food artisans. WGBH Boston’s Laurie Donnelly is executive producer of the series.

Both of these television programs are distributed by Boston-based APT for broadcast on local public television stations. In addition, JOSEPH ROSENDO'S TRAVELSCOPE and MOVEABLE FEAST WITH FINE COOKING appear on APT-distributed Create® TV – the national digital channel dedicated exclusively to the best of public television’s how-to shows in cooking, travel, gardening, and more. Other Create series nominated for Emmys include: THIS OLD HOUSE –up for three awards – and the series’ “partner” program, ASK THIS OLD HOUSE – receiving one nomination.

The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy® ceremonies will take place on June 20, 2014 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
